Alpha hydroxy acids (AHA’s) is the name for the family of acids derived from fruits and other foods. The benefits of these active substances when used in skin care products can assist in the treatment of various skin conditions such as, photo-damage, hyperpigmentation, acne, dry skin or even uneven skin tone and texture.

When applied topically in skincare products AHA’s, dissolve and remove the natural glue which bonds the stratum cornea (dead surface skin cells) together. This process is known as chemical exfoliation.
