 So here's the clever bit - our self-tanning products contain both DHA and Erythulose tanning agents. Both are naturally clear in colour and work by "tanning" the melanin cells which lie at the very top layers in your own skin - safely! The higher the levels of melanin you have, the darker your tan will be. Don't worry if you have naturally low levels of melanin though - the tanning agents will gently stimulate the production of melanin, so over the course of a few nights of applying, your tan will deepen and darken if you so desire.

 With DHA and Erythulose being naturally colourless - we added a dark brown colour guide to our self tanning products so that you can easily see if you miss a spot. The colour guide is then removed after the tanning agents have developed and voila! your beautiful tan appears.

      As conscientious environmentalists, our products contain no harsh preservatives, only natural ingredients and are never tested on animals. Ever!

Fake Bake has developed an exclusive range of retail products to support the salon professional treatment as well as offering the customer the opportunity to self tan at home. The retail range consists of preparation products, selection of self tans to suit client preference, along with maintenance and after care products.  For those clients who wish to sample the products, we also have Tanning Kits and Travel Kits.  This product range is organic and is suitable for all skin types.

Erythrolose is a natural keto-sugar which when combined with dihydroxyacetone (DHA) produces a more even and longer lasting tan without undesired streaks. Independent studies have shown that most self tanners containing only DHA will become patchy over the life of the tan, self tanners containing Erythrolose produce a deep, uniform and natural tan which will fade more naturally on the skin.
